A rare opportunity to own this linen set which once belong to Queen Mary (1867-1953), wife of King George V (reigned 1910-1935).

This comprises of tablecloth and six napkins and of a pale blue colour.

The tablecloth and napkins has drawn needlework and floral detail with the cipher of Queen Mary. Has the cipher of Queen Mary, "MRI" and in reverse below a crown embroidered on the tablecloths and six napkins.

 A very rare opportunity to buy a piece of British royal family history, that is a personal item that belonged to queen consort.

Provenance

A wonderful provenance!

-Was a personal item which once belonged to and was handled by Queen Mary (1910-1935).

-Passed down by descent through members of the Royal Family.

-Came from the estate of the Hon, Angela Lascelles, an actress who was the wife of Gerald Lascelles, the younger son of the 6th Earl of Harewood and H.R.H. Princess Mary, the only daughter of H. M. King George V and H. M. Queen Mary.

(Possibly passed down from Queen Mary to her daughter Princess Mary and whence to Gerald Lascelles and his wife.)

 -Sold at the sale of the property from the collection of the Hon. Mrs Angela Lascelles, Sunday 28th October 2007, lot 150.

Condition

In excellent and clean condition considering its age.  Some folds which is commensurate with age and use.

Dimensions

Tablecloth measures approximately 62 inches by 56 inches (158 by 142 cm).  Each napkin measures approximately 9 inches by 8.25 inches (33 by 31 cm).
