Description
Offered for sale is this antique Chinese blue and white plate dating from the reign of the emperor Qianlong (1735-96), that is during the Qing Dynasty.
This is quite an attractive hand painted plate with a building set within a landscape surrounded by vegetation. As can be seen there are birds on both sides of the building.
The plate probably dates from arround 1750.
Provenance
This plate originally came from the K. J. Allison collection, a historian and noted collector of antique Chinese blue and white porcelain. On the rear is affixed here collection label, which is number 44.
Size
The plate measures approximatelty 9 inches or nearly 23cm wide.
Condition
There is a hairline crack on the bottom of the plate, with some rim frits/chips on the reverse of the plate. However this is commensurate with the age of the plate
