A nice antique Chinese polychrome pottery figure of a seated Guanyin.
Guanyin is modelled as seated on the rocks holding what looks to be a lotus flower.
There looks to be a Taoist or Buddhist good luck symbol painted on her back
Made of earthenware and is well decorated and modelled.
Probably dates from the 19th century. Maybe earlier?
Condition
There are some chips and fritting to the base of the figure, and damage to the tips of some of the fingers. Part of the hair on the right-hand side of the back of the head is missing. There is also damage to the bottom of the right earring worn by the figure. Still an attractive figure though.
Dimensions
The figure measures approximately 22 cm (or 8 & 5/8 inches) in height, and 10 cm (or nearly 4 inches) in width at the widest point.
