Item Description
Offered for sale is this oil on canvas painting of Saint Mary (the Blessed Virgin) with the Christ Child, Saint John the Baptist, Saint Elisabeth, and Saint Anne.
The painting is after Raphael Sanzio da Urbino (1483-1520), considered one of the greatest artists of the Italian Renaissance, and is a copy of his painting of the same subject at the Palazzo Pitti, Florence, which was originally painted in the early 16th century. It depicts the Virgin Mary seated with the baby Jesus, with the young St Baptist on the right also seated, with St Elizabeth and St Anne on the left.
I cannot be sure when this copy was painted, but I was told it could have been painted in the 17th or 18th century. The canvas has been relined. It is also framed in an ornate gilt wood and gesso frame.

Condition
The frame and painting are in very good condition, with no repairs to the canvas, or paint loss visible. However, the painting has not been examined under UV light, and the canvas has been more recently relined.
There are some minor age-related knocks, wear, scuffs, and scratches to the frame, which are commensurate with age.
Dimensions and weight
The painting measures 62 cm (nearly 24.5 inches) high by 52 cm (20.5 inches) wide, without the frame. In the frame it measures 85 cm (33.5 inches) high by 75 cm (29.5 inches) wide.
The painting with the frame weighs 8.21 kg.
